Since Today in the morning <Alt Gr> does no longer work as it should. Instead of activating some special characters (like “{”, “}”,“²”,“³”) on my German layout Logitech USB keyboard, it activates the "Energy Save Mode" shutdown.
Might have to do with the swallow of beer I poured out on the...
How can I put my current screen/monitor into sleep mode (e.g. after 2h) and NOT turn it off completely (after 2h) ?

I have spent months trying to diagnose why a couple of my systems will not enter any power save states.
Late last year i narrowed it down to the fact that i have several game controllers plugged in.
When googling 'Windows 10 joystick sleep' i suddenly became aware i was not alone.
It seems now...

Hi,
today i put my computer on sleepmode and then left home. When i came back some hours later, the computer was running and the monitor showed me the loggin-window. It looks like something woke my computer up. As I foudn out, windows 7 regular uses usb-devices like mouse and keyboard to wake...
A lot of people have had this problem and I've seen posts for this on other support forums, but when I unplug my computer and my FPS drops from 120-150 to 20-30, plugging it in doesn't fix the the problem.
The fps drops just stays there unless I somehow update my Windows or Lenovo (which I...

Hi, I am using nvidia multi display power saver with SLI. With two monitors both cards are running at 51mhz and temps are good. Is this safe to force downclock all the time until I need the extra power/3D?
When reading some config recommendations always two different hardware features are mentioned:
AHCI and ACPI
What is the difference?
Both seem to be power-saving-related.
Is one for hard disks and the other for CPU only?
Is one in BIOS-only configurable the other from WinOS configurable?

Hi everybody,
I use my computer for video editing which is a heavy computational task and can take hours to complete. What power options should be selected for this kind of a task? As far as I understand, sleeping and hibernation should be disabled completely. But what about Hard Disk and...
So recently i've had no issues with my monitor or adapter cable, which is what i think and hope is the problem. Everything worked fine, but one day i shut down my PC, and in the morning, tried starting it up. My tower turned on as usual, i could hear the fan running and the lights come on, but...
Hey guys I hope someone can shed some light on this for me as I am at a complete loss.

Hello, I currently have a windows 7 Dell OptiPlex 780 that occasionally and randomly freezes and the monitor goes into power save like when I shut down the computer. I know there is power to it because the lights on the keyboard are on num lock but you can't turn them off. It froze. I have...
As you know Win 7 offers options (especially for notebooks) to dim the display after e.g. 15minutes
or turn it completely off after 30 minutes of inactivity.
Obviously the user can save (rechargable) power with that.
But I am particularly interested in possible disadvantages for the hardware...

I have a number of different drives that I use for different purposes but I only use two of them frequently.
I would like for the others to enter sleep mode when not in use, but never my main two.
Is there any way to edit power saving settings for individual drives?
As long as the power cable is plugged in in my notebook the brightness of my display is fine.
But when I plug it out and use the battery the brightness becomes suddenly darker.
Why?
How can I prevent this switch-to-dark-screen?
I found no corresponding option in the power plans
