Hi there:

The title of this post is not well formulated, I only want to recover it no matter what machine I use...
When I delete either the original or the duplicate, the other file is deleted as well and, when I restore the single example from the recycle bin, both are restored.
My own solution is:-
1) Drag and drop the original file onto its duplicate into the picture folder.
2) Stop creating files on...

Hello All,
I seem to have encountered a strange problem with my external hdd (Transcend Storejet 1.5TB).
For some reason the volume label changed to the label of another external hdd (same type).
That's not really a problem but a large number of folders and files disappeared.
I've tried...
Hi Everyone !
I am using Windows 7 ultimate x64. My sister plugged a memory card into my laptop some days ago. Since then, there is a folder "$RECYCLE.BIN" created in all of my hdd drives. I delete that folder but it reappears whenever laptop is restarted. Its really annoying me right now.

I received a zipped file from someone. I downloaded it and opened it. It contained sub folders which each contained a page of a booklet. I decided to trash the whole file. I deleted it from the recycle bin. Later when I
closed other windows on my desktop, I found one of the open pages from the...
One of the four basic Libraries is Music. I found thousands (yes!) files in that Library, most of them I have no idea about and have absolutely nothing to do with music. Windows said they are references and deleting them will not remove the actual file from the PC. I found that incorrect, I...

Hi:
I have a Win 7 Enterprise Pro x64 laptop. Most of the files in my recycler/recycle bin mysteriously disappeared a few days back (I am guessing some OS quirk since desktop.ini also seems to have been modified then, though everything is still running smoothly).
So I want to get those...

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on Toshiba Qosmio - I've been experiencing random folder deletions. Today I was deleting a single video from a folder when I got the msg "too big for recycle bin - permanently delete?" I clicked yes and the entire folder disappeared. This happens maybe once every...
In Windows 7, you know, The "Olden days", when I asked the computer to delete a file, a window would open up and say something to the effect of "do you really want to delete this file?" I liked that. If I am working really fast, and I usually am, I like having my machine slow me down just a tad...
I keep getting a "need permission from Trusted installer" or "system' error. Who is this guy and where do I find him? Also have some Java style "file name too long for recycle bin errors". I'd like to reclaim this wasted hard drive space after a non-eventful Win 8 install. Thanks in advance.
I have an extra logical drive (separate from C: ) that holds my personal data, you know, pictures, home videos, personal documents etc. This drive, E:, has for the last year or so always shown up in explorer with red a red disk space indicator bar. (There was about 20GB of free space left)...
