Hello,
I recently upgraded from Vista, during installation of Windows 7 I was prompted that Windows Mail was being discontinued but my e-mails would be saved. I had some very important e-mails that I need back, but I cant seem to find them anywhere. any help?
I know Windows Mail will not be available in Win 7 and Win Live is there for me to use, however, I'm planning on doing a clean install anyway, and probably moving to OpenOffice mail, if not that, I'll use Win Live.
Can anyone tell me what I need to backup or export so I can successfully...
That's it! I'm going back to Vista-(not!)
Why can I not at least have the option for local email? Windows mail was fine in Vista. Windows live is a total turn-off
EDIT- I think this is resolved for me- Would have been easier if Microsoft had included a replacement for windows mail WITH...
I'm going to upgrade my wife's OS from XP to Windows 7. I think she will be happier with Windows Mail (that appeared with Vista) instead of Windows Live Mail. It has a look that will be more familiar to her.
Can I use Windows Mail in Windows 7 instead of Windows Live Mail?
First off, this is not a question of how to transfer messages from WM to WLM. I can do that just fine. My problem is that when I do transfer WM messages to WLM, information such as whether or not the message was flagged, read, or replied to is NOT transferred. So my question is, what file in WM...
In Outlook Express and its Vista successor, Windows Mail, one could click Send All, Receive All, or Send and Receive All. In Windows Live Mail it seems that Sync takes the place of Send and Receive All and that there is no longer separate Send All and Receive All. Is this correct?

Have been using Windows Mail in Vista Ultimate for a year or so and am surprised to learn that Windows Mail is not included in Windows 7. When you install 7 over Vista (not a clean update) - Will the mail files created by Vista be available
(readable) when the installation is complete.
I have posted this question in two different CNET forums - "E-mail, chat, & VoIP" and "Windows 7" - but have received no response to either. Thought I might have more success here.
I am currently using Windows Mail on Vista Home Premium. I've seen numerous reports that Windows Mail will not be...
hey, am I the only one whose noticed that Windows Live is using JAVA instead of SILVERLIGHT for Windows Mail?? What's up with that?? I thought SILVERLIGHT was suppose to replace JAVA.
I'm wondering if anyone else has to same problem or knows hot to fix it? It takes between 7 and 30 minutes to receive my emails. When I used Hotmail my mail was received instantly. Any ideas?
I know that Windows Mail is not part of Windows 7 RC. The installation instructions said it would be saved, so where do I go to view my e-mail that I was able to access in Wndows VISTA?
I have to say that since I loaded Windows 7 on my laptop, I have had no major problems with this OS.

This is day two of an upgrade install. Windows Mail is hanging when I try to shut it down, and Windows Explorer, when opened, shows no drive icons, and the green progress bar never finishes loading. I can no longer navigate the installation. Doing an SFC scannow doesn't show any problems. I am...

I just installed Build 7100 and find that Outlook Express is not listed in the All Programs entry from the Start Menu. There are instructions for setting it up, but they start out by having me click on the non-existent "Outlook Express" entry. Anyone know where it might be hiding?
Hi all
If you are like me and HATE webmail based stuff you can still use the VISTA Windows Mail in both 64 and 32 bit versions.
(If you have OUTLOOK then you don't need to do this).
Also an advantage with this is that you can get your old VISTA email into W7 without any problems.

Resolution This helped me.:p
This happens if a default mail client is not correctly set. Using the Default Programs - Set your default programs, and selecting your mail client (for example, Windows Mail) also may not help.

Hi All,
In Windows Mail, when I copy a mail that I have saved and paste it into a new E-mail, when they recipient tries to open the web link in the E-mail I sent them, they get "Address not Valid".
When I look at the actual Sent Item, I see an "mhtml:{" with a bunch of characters appended to...
