I ran the scan, same hassles as before, it just keeps on running and i cannot stop the damm thing. Could you tell me where i could look in the admin control area to see who, what when or what-ever i can do to change what-ever i have to change? The Trend tech didn't want to try anything in case he stuffed it up and i guess was worried about liability, I couldn't care less about liability, just want this resolved before it becomes 'War and Peace'(regarding length here)
Regards Greg
This is funny because this is the first time you have actually stated what the problem with Trend Micro is. Some types of scans take a very long time. Are you doing a quick scan, it only takes a few minutes on my system.
If you are having delays, maybe some area has a bad file it cannot access. Trend Micro allows you to bypass locations. You might use that ability to scan only certain directories to see if the scan completes normally. You can also pick a folder or file individually and scan it. You may be able to narrow down a problem based on these results.
Trend Micro has a diagnostic utility. You might try that to see if it shows anything strange. It seems to allow for a log to be created that might indicate a problem area. I will try it shortly and get back to you if I notice anything.
You could run a system file check, so the permission problems Trend Micro had might be related to the way you connect to the net.
As far as the other error messages you are getting, it might be good for you to check with some other folks in your area to see if they get them also. It might be a normal situation for your area.
I have been using Trend Micro for a few days with no obvious problems. But, as I mentioned, it was installed after the SP1 update. If you still want to uninstall it and reinstall, it might clear up some problems.
Other than the above, I suggest you, if you haven't already, obtain the latest driver for your network adapter, and any other network utilities you have.
