Windows 7 Audio player stops working when USB headset is plugged in

Honestly this is really getting ridiculous. I buy another headset and its the same problem and when i plug the usb headset in the audio stops working. I know nothing wrong with the headset because i heal popping noises through the headset when i restart the computer with them on. Have you tried the headset on another system?

Does the microphone show up normally?

When you select the Headset in the Playback Devices panel, does either the Configure or Properties buttons become available?

Do you have any other mixer utilities, like a Realtek panel?

You do not have a Optical output on your system?

On a video I just watched, the device is listed as a USB PnP Sound Device.

Is it compatible with Windows 7?
