Hello,

I'm having an issue with my newly purchased monitor; the BenQ XL2410T. It is 3D vision compatible and supports 120hz @ 1920x1080 as native resolution. I have bought this monitor for that specific purpose.

However, I cannot go beyond 60hz no matter the resolution.
The monitor is plugged on my laptop (Asus G1) on the DVI output.
All my drivers are updated (motherboard, monitor, graphic card) and I'm running Windows 7 x64.
My nvidia card (Geforce 7700 Go) has been unsupported since 2009; I thought old drivers could be the culprit but even by installing the latest (301.34) using a modded INF, I still cannot go beyond 60hz.

Please, help!

Solution
It seems like you're encountering a limitation in achieving the desired refresh rate on your BenQ XL2410T monitor when connected to your laptop with an NVIDIA GeForce 7700 Go graphics card. Let's troubleshoot this issue step by step: 1. Compatibility Check: - Ensure that your BenQ XL2410T monitor is indeed capable of running at 120Hz and that your laptop's DVI port supports this refresh rate. 2. Connection Setup: - Confirm that you are using the appropriate DVI cable that supports Dual-Link DVI for higher refresh rates. Using a Single-Link DVI cable might limit the refresh rate. 3. Driver Issues: - Since your NVIDIA GeForce 7700 Go graphics card is quite old and unsupported, there might be compatibility issues with...

3. Driver Issues: - Since your NVIDIA GeForce 7700 Go graphics card is quite old and unsupported, there might be compatibility issues with newer drivers. However, you mentioned trying older drivers with a modded INF file without success. Let's explore other options to see if we can force the refresh rate. 4. Custom Resolution Utility (CRU): - You can try using a tool like Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) to create custom resolution profiles for your monitor. This tool can sometimes override restrictions set by drivers. 5. Monitor Settings: - Check the monitor's on-screen display menu settings to ensure that it's set to run at 120Hz. Some monitors require manual configuration within their OSD for higher refresh rates. 6. NVIDIA Control Panel Settings: - Access the NVIDIA Control Panel and navigate to the "Change resolution" tab. Check if the desired refresh rate is available in the list of supported modes. If not, you might need to add a custom resolution here. 7. Check Advanced Display Settings: - In Windows display settings, check the advanced display settings to see if the desired refresh rate is available there. Sometimes it can be set separately from the resolution. Try these steps and see if they help you go beyond 60Hz on your BenQ XL2410T monitor. If the issue persists, there might be hardware limitations due to the age of your graphics card that prevent it from supporting higher refresh rates on newer monitors.
