Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

If this doesn't fix things, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings
While waiting, please run these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics This'll get you a head start if Driver Verifier points us towards hardware.

i'm really sorry but i dont quite know computer jargon. if it's not too much to ask, can you briefly explain how to check and update these drivers because i clicked the links not knowing what to do. thank you very much for your help!

So - click on the link usasma provided:
In this case, I'll use the second driver link provided - the CyberLink WebCam.
1. I click the link and it takes me to Driver Reference Table - clwvd.sys
2. I can see two main info lines - Driver Description and Driver Update Site.
3. The Driver Update Site points me to CyberLink Product Support - Download Software Updates & Patches and User Guides , so I click the link - this gets me to Cyberlink's Support Page.:
4. If I mouse over the "Support" Tab, I can see a small list of options - I choose the second one, "Software Updates".
5. There is a list of all the products that CyberLink offers. I scroll down the list, looking through each option to see which one is for me - in this case, I see the YouCam Update Option, 4th from the top. There is a green recycle arrow box in the Updates Column, next to YouCam. I click it, and it brings me to YouCam 5 Webcam Software with Augmented Reality Effects & Webcam Avatar
6. I see the latest update (may change depending on when you read this) from 2012-12-02. I click the "Download" button, and wait for it to finish downloading.
7. I select the download file, and let it update my software.
8. Once I'm done, I restart my computer.

Repeat with each link.

For more efficient updates:
Download them all and put them into one folder, then update them all.

Thanks a lot for everyone's help! I'll try and follow these steps as accurate as I can. I'll update you guys if there are any problems regarding the updates. And may I ask, what would happen if I downloaded the wrong one and run it in my computer. Say for example, I searched "Intel Graphics Driver in the Intel website and the site displayed over 100 results. I was confused and stuck. Can you tell me the possible effects of downloading and running the wrong update in my computer? Again, thanks a lot! Cheers!

If the BSOD is repeatable, write down the information on the BSOD and post them. The information provides the code to the hard failure, the location of the code and may include the name of the driver that caused the hard fault.

Knowing the cause is half way to solving the problem. If the cause is a bad memory stick, replacing drivers is not going to solve the problem..... Since you have 6GB of memory, you may want to start by removing one stick (in round robin) and run with 4GB to see if the BSOD goes away... If the system becomes stable with 4GB.... put the other stick back in. If iit then fails, replace that stick or run with 4GB....

If you try to install the wrong driver (from major manufacturer's) it will refuse to install.
As this appears to be an HP Touchsmart system - you can also:
- locate and download the most recent Win7 driver at the HP website
- uninstall the current driver/software from your system
- install the most recent driver from the HP website.

Also, just in case, please run these free diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics

Thanks alot for your help! I'm going to try the processes now. By the way, are there any possible reasons to why I experienced a BSOD?

There are, in general, 3 primary reasons for BSOD's (from most likely to least likely)
- 3rd party (non-Windows) driver problems. These include corruptions, incompatibility, malware, etc.
- hardware problems - including broken, incompatibility, and overclocking
- Windows problems (least likely)

Oh thanks! You're a great help! And can you give me some tips on to how I could avoid experiencing this kind of problems?

Keep Windows updated
Update drivers (but I will confess that I don't do this myself)
Keep your data backed up.

But sometimes "stuff" just happens - so be prepared.

Good luck!

Tsk tsk John, not updating your drivers?

Keep your BIOS updated too, through your mobo.

if you'd really like to stop bsods, switch to an OS like Linux. 100% BSOD free.

And I haven't updated my BIOS either! :0)

Seriously, there are lot's of different suggestions out there for trouble free computing.
But nothing offers you the flexibility of Windows.

Linux is good for those with a technical bent
iOS is good for those who don't want to worry about the technical side
But both of them just don't have a large number of programs available that can do what Windows does.

Good luck!

It's quite funny how even experts can't be bothered to update drivers and BIOS too. HAHAHA
Thanks for your help! I'd say that this is one of the best forum sites that I've ever seen in my history of using the internet! Keep it up!
