i have been having a issue lately with my computer on Vista home premium when launching counter strike on steam when i get into a game it just randomly restart my pc and it never did it in the past. not really BOSD but the minidump says it is im not really knowledgeable with minidump files which originally i thought the issue was my hard drive due to hard drive error notifications saying my harddrive was failing. after one of theses restarts so i switched it out with another hard drive formatted it reinstalled drivers was going good at first then boom. it restarted again with fresh new harddrive so im kinda lost on where to go from now. i am running 32bit vista with only 3gigs of ram wondering if one of my sticks are going bad or a connection or maybe even my graphics card but every hardware scan i have done shows everything fine. any ideas on where to start? ill load my minidump file if anyone wants to take a look.

Hi,
most of your dump files were like the above which blames the gpu driver. You also had one dump file blame the USB hub driver and looking through your drivers I see they are generally quite old apart from the gpu driver funnily enough.. :)

I'm pretty sure this is your system here:

ok i was having some issues last couple of days or so but here i am!. so i wiped the hard drive clean again and updated to windows 7 ultimate seeing people having similar issues with the game on vista..so i thought id give it a shot. i have updated my audio and video drivers like you recommended my keyboard and mouse drivers removed the 56k and update my intel driver stuff did all the windows updates. i went to do bios but it says those only support vista because hp came factory with vista and not 7? can i still use the same bios updates even though i now am in windows 7? after all that and hours or redoing it i go to launch the game and it restarts pc again. im starting to think its more hardware related myself like ram sticks or my graphics card is going bad or overheating. ill post new dump file

Hi,
still blaming the gpu driver. It could be that you have an issue with the gpu. Is it possible to try the card in a friends machine? If not, stess test it using this application:
http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/
If the card crashes then you may well have a hardware issue.
