Windows 7 BSOD on hibernate INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR

Hi Guys,

I have tried a million solutions and failed so far, in fact BSODs seem to be more consistent lately. I need my computer for work on the go and desperately need a solution asap. I am hoping there is an obvious problem that I have been missing given these are all very similar dump files and BSOD scenarios.

Basically I need to hibernate frequently as I need to be able to shutdown and resume working quickly after startup. Occassionally the hibernate will take a long time (with varying numbers of programs open) and eventually a BSOD will appear. In the dump files I have had 11x INTERNAL_POWER_ERRORs and 1x IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL since a reinstall over christmas.

If anyone can offer some insight it would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi AsusG53 and Welcome to The Forum.

This is just to let you know that you are not being missed. Unfortunately I'm not really up to speed with the foibles of laptop sleep / shutdowns, never having owned one!

The bluescreens are definitely related to your hibernating, which you know.

Hopefully, someone who is more au fait with your problem will be able to help. The only thing I can think of is that, in your Power Settings >> Advanced. Set the Hard Disk to "Turn off hard disk after: Never".

Many thanks for the suggestion and offer of support!

Unfortunately I have tried this as well as several other SSD optimisation settings. I have also noted that a common source of a similar BSOD is the hibernate file size which I have increased to 100% of the ram size using the cmd terminal. Had a couple more BSODs since posting this also. Same error code...

I realise it is becoming less likely of being able to solve this problem, but if anyone on the forum could please take a look at the dump files it would be a huge help. I am pretty hopeless at reading these things and really just need some direction as to what could possibly be causing this. It is still a frequently occurring problem.

[Trouble]

These types of energy saving issues resulting in BSODs are never easy to solve. They can be anything from the Laptop Mfg's own power utility conflicting with Windows 7''s native power configuration, to something called C-states or C-modes in the BIOS utility, on Intel boards, which I usually suggest disabling or turning off. They can also be related in certain instances to systems temps which may or may not be related to overclocking of CPU, Memory or Graphics.
I suggest you familiarize yourself with the native windows power options as well as the Powercfg utility and see if it reveals any helpful information. The links below may prove useful.

You do have one suspicious file on your computer called QQ.exe and unless you are familar with and know the purpose of this particular program I would suggest grabbing this program What is Windows Defender Offline? (get the correct version for your architecture 32 or 64 bit) and a blank CD. Double click the program and it will build a bootable CD that you can use, independent of your operating system to perform a FULL system scan of your computer.
You also have a couple old pre-Windows 7 RTM drivers which you should probably address but I really don't suspect they are actually at fault here.
