Windows 7 BSOD when waking from sleep mode

New Member
I have been getting BSOD upon waking this machine from sleep mode. It also happens when I restart my machine. I have tried to follow the instructions for posting in the attachment. I was unable to use the PassMark RAMMon due to an error "Unable to load DirectIo dirver". Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Let me know if any additional information is needed.

Thank you.
Will

They type of error here is often caused by mal ware. I'd suggest using a couple of the free anti-mal ware apps at this link to see if you're infected (and to see if your current protection has been compromised): Link Removed - Invalid URL

If the system comes up clean from the anti-mal ware scans, then I'd suggest uninstalling F-Secure, and then IMMEDIATELY installing a free anti virus to test and see if it fixed the BSOD's (I have a list here: Link Removed - Invalid URL ). The reason for this is that your F-Secure drivers date from as early as 2008 - which was well before Win7 came out.

If neither of these things work, then I'd suggest trying Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Link Removed due to 404 Error.

Also, as there is a memory component to this error, I'd suggest the free memory and hard drive diagnostics at this link: Link Removed - Invalid URL (the hard drive because that's where some Virtual Memory is stored - in the pagefile)

If the above steps don't stop the BSOD's, please zip up and upload any new memory dumps with your next post - and we'll see what we can figure out from there.

The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs

I have done all that you recommended. I am no longer getting BSOD, thank you very much. However, my windows update and updates for Microsoft Security Essentials are failing. Would this have anything to do with the driver verifier process? Is there anything I need to do to stop the driver verifier? I have done some searching for solutions for the update problem, but nothing has worked form me yet.

It's probably not due to Driver Verifier.
But, to stop Driver Verifier from running, please open Driver Verifier and select "Delete existing settings".
Then reboot the system for the changes to take effect.

Please post over in the General or Security forums for assistance with Windows Updates.
Especially when corrupted by mal-ware, they are a real pain to fix (I'm not one of those who can fix them).
You may want to consider this procedure if you want to save some time: Link Removed - Invalid URL
