Windows 7 BSOD within 60 seconds of running IE8

Dump file: 090610-19578-01.dmp
This was likely caused by the following module: ntkrnlpa.exe
Bugcheck code: 0x50 (0xF3400107, 0x0, 0x82A72C51, 0x2)
Error: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Bug check 0x50 usually occurs after the installation of faulty hardware or in the event of failure of installed hardware. Another common cause is the installation of a faulty system service. Antivirus software can also trigger this error, as can a corrupted NTFS volume.

1. Chkdsk /f /r
2. Disable the AV and see if this resolves the error
3. I still see:

nvsmu.sys 29.06.2009 (NVIDIA nForce(TM) SMU Microcontroller Driver)
nvhda32v.sys 27.06.2009 (NVIDIA HDMI Audio Driver)

Did you follow TorrentG's recommendation to update them? After uninstalling the current NVIDIA driver set, did you apply the Driver Sweeper?

1) Update the drivers again that were un-updated with the restore.

2) Run the checkdisk as Cybercore shows.

3) Post new dumps if needed.

Ok - I did everything again.

Antivrus was removed almost at the start of this problem..
Chkdsk worked fine.

Used safe mode to remove drivers but after that had a problem going back into safe mode as it kept telling me that the machine would log off in one minute due to a problem. So i had to re-install drivers in normal mode. The dump occurred within 5 minutes of starting IE.

I turned on verifier but I don't think this dump is a verified one. Isn't it supposed to have a different name? When I ran verifier/query it just opened another cmd window and a whole lot of stuff flashed thru before it closed again.

The machine is trying to install updates on shutdown but it has frozen so no doubt that will create a new problem when I pull the plug.

I refer you to this post, since you should do the same exact process:

http://windows7forums.com/windows-7...-issue-random-crashes-i-think.html#post171534

Code:
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (50)
Invalid system memory was referenced. This cannot be protected by try-except,
it must be protected by a Probe. Typically the address is just plain bad or it
is pointing at freed memory.
Arguments:
Arg1: 9ed3f6fc, memory referenced.
Arg2: 00000000, value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation.
Arg3: 91edc61d, If non-zero, the instruction address which referenced the bad memory
    address.
Arg4: 00000000, (reserved)

Debugging Details:
------------------

Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\nvlddmkm.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for nvlddmkm.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for nvlddmkm.sys
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for dxgkrnl.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for dxgkrnl.sys

Disable the NVIDIA High Definition audio in the device manager, so it's driver is not loaded with Windows, if you don't use it.

Hello Shumboom,

Could you post your complete computer specifications please?

Medion is on the very low, end model end scale computer made completely in China.

I have followed all instructions to the letter but I still have very unstable pc. IE tabs keep closing(I'm composing this for the 5th time in notepad)

No BSOD yet but its only a matter of time. Here's my spec.

I wouldn't think so if you followed my advice well enough.

Perhaps you have a faulty keyboard or mouse which is closing I.E. tabs. Or malware.

Scan with Malwarebytes and check your hardware.

Just got another bsod browsing with IE8. Since the reinstall windows has not crashed as regularly but IE and desktop close and restart quite often. I ran malwarebytes and even that stopped with a windows error. It ran thru the 2nd time - all clear.

I have users too so I know how u must feel but I honestly have been following every instruction word for word! Thanks!

I can't see which version or how old this driver is because it is unloaded with crashes:

DirectIo.sys

So, make sure it is updated to latest. I'd also run Memtest86+ overnight to test the memory. You might have to test one module at a time with others removed to find the faults.

I'm a little surprised that your previous check disks reported to be well. There are NTFS errors still somehow:

Just got this message as IE crashed.

The instruction 0x6d2e4e7c referenced memory 0x6d2e4e7c. the memory could not be written.

Any help?

Im not sure how to update directio.sys

But odd things is I downloaded Drivercure and it is saying my nvidia geforce drivers are out of date. I have been
using the file downloaded at

NVIDIA DRIVERS 258.96 WHQL

so I dont know how I still have and out of date driver. But also you have been saying that the drivers are still out of date.

When I run Driver Genius it is even more specific saying that my Nvidia nForce PCI system mgt driver is from 2006! The other nForce drivers are from 2009(it says).

However it does not mention the display adaptor drivers.

When I check the drivers on Device Manager it says all drivers are up to date.

Each time I have reinstalled I have run driver sweeper twice in safe mode ensuring that there are no nvidia drivers on my machine and then I run

the downloadeded file. Ive just done the whole thing again and drivercure/Genius continues to say my drivers are out of date. Not sure how this can be unless its a scam to buy it.

Also I should point out that at no time have I ever had the Nvidia control panel appear on my right click menu. That doesnt seem right...

The PC has taken to freezing rather than BSOD so no dumps. I have run BurnInTest to check the memory and has passed ok. It must be these drivers although I am at a loss to see how they can still be out of date...

Nah, those apps are a waste of time and potentially very harmful. You don't have any outdated drivers at all and the only one that may need attention is as I've said, DirectIo.sys.

Here are all of your drivers so you can see for yourself:

If you installed something called BurnInTest or PerformanceTest, uninstall it.

I edited my previous post. If you don't know what installed that driver still, then simply go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and delete it. Reboot and make sure it's still gone. Then run Ccleaner to clean the registry.

Since I can't see exactly because it was unloaded, it could possibly be in C:\Windows\System32 instead but that would be rare.

At this point I'd suggest uninstalling IE8.

Ho to Start > Run, and paste optionalfeatures into the Run box and uncheck the box for Internet Explorer 8

Reboot, now go back again and check the box to re-install.

Current Status

Uninstalled then re-installed ie8
Uninstalled BurnInTest/Driver Cure/etc
Directio.sys was not to be found -ran cccleaner-rebooted-Nothing found
Ran memtest overnight- passed ok.
Ran chkdsk again - all ok.

Latest dumps attached.

Machine was not able to install windows updates correctly and keeps crashing before the update finishes creating one of the dumps.
