Windows 7 Buiilding New Computer BSOD System service exception Help !!

Hi everyone,
To start I would like to say that I just build a computer by myself from the choosing components up to assembly ect.. It is my first time doing this alone so I kind of expect problems to happens, though I would have liked that it didn't happen on the very first day:cry_smile:.

So after I completed my assembly and installing Windows and all necessary software I would randomly get this BSOD System_service_exception. By using Bluescreenviews to read my minidump I got the results of 3 files being in red ( I suppose it mean that there is something wrong with them) they are: NDProxy.sys; ntoskrln.exe,rasl2tp.sys

I also attached the dump files itself for further analysis since I'm no expert, these codes are meaningless to me. Please Help me to solve this problem!
Best Regards

Bump! Can anyone help me upon this matter please?. Since this problem happens somewhat randomly it is hard for me to pinpoint the cause of it. I know the information I provided above are not yet very useful, I would also like to know more but I don't quite know where to start. The only thing I know at the moment is that my PC would suddenly get BSOD and the .dmp files is the only thing standing between me and total panic (since I spend quite a lot of money and effort to get this computer up and running)

Another bit of information, I have read around and it seems that some people point out that system service exception problem is video card related. I recently purchased a Asus Geforce GTX 560, after some time trying to make it fit into my case ( boy it was a big card) when I first boot on, it did strike me somewhat as strange that the BIOS screen is in very low resolution ( It mean that with the card on my 23" monitor only display in the center and there is quite a lot of space on the monitor not fully covered like when you force display a low resolution on a high resolution display). After I install the drivers it still happen on the BIOS screen, only when the Window start up and I'm asked to sign in the resolution is what it should be.

Also not sure if it is relevant but sometimes my monitor would just suddenly become black, not getting signal and then after a bit it will turn back on. I got a notification from Nvidia control panel that there was a crash and it was recovered. My current Nvidia driver version is 285.62 which should be the latest, I don't understand why this is happening

Hi Jimmy and Welcome to The Forum.

Have you got more dump files than the one attached?

Please see: How to ask for help with a BSOD problem Following Method 2:
Download
and run the SF Diagnostics Tool. Right click the SF Diag tool and select Run as Administrator before running. When the reports have been created, zip them up and attach to a post.

Download and run CPU-Z. Take screenshots**/snips of the Mainboard tab, Memory tab and all the slot #'s under the SPD tab.
Go to Post Reply, click on the Go Advanced button and attach the screenshots**/snips to your post for all the RAM experts to see by using the paper clip you will find on the top toolbar. Do not zip them up.
**
If screenshots, please crop.

STOP 0x0000004A: IRQL_GT_ZERO_AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE
Usual causes:
Device driver.

But just to start you off, go to your Mobo Mfrs site and make sure you have all the latest drivers available.

spuy.sys. possibly another name for sptd.sys. The sptd.sys driver is notorious for causing BSOD's with Windows 7. It's a driver used and installed along with Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120 which you'll also have to uninstall.
Then use the correct (32bit or 64bit) download from Duplex Secure - Downloads to uninstall the SPTD.SYS driver.
Make sure to select the uninstall button! DO NOT SELECT INSTALL!!

That's normal. A bsod defaults to native/basic drivers, just enough to get by with.

Further to above, make sure your system is fully updated including SP1.

Thanks a bunch for your reply, I have done all you asked above and now I will proceed to post all of the relevant information;). So first I have compile all the information from SF diagnostic tool and I will post it here. Luckily enough I haven't encounter more of the crash yet, so I don't have any new dmp files to gives. Although for my first crash my PC did create a kernel dump files which is 500 MB, I don't suppose that help.

Here are the snips from my CPU-Z Tabs
Memory.PNGSPD.PNGMainboard.PNG

As for the SPD tabs, my computer run 2 ram stick of the same models. So for the tabs #3 has the same information. For the tab 2 and 4 there is nothing because I don't have RAM modules on them.

I also proceed to uninstall the files sptd. and Daemon Tool ( I noticed that I installed the wrong version).

Once again thanks for the help, if there is anything else I can do please tell me

Damn, just when I thought I somehow got rid of the problem another crash came in. Anyway I'm posting it here for further analysis.

This crash happened when I was launching the game Call of Duty MW 3. I tried to launch it once again and it crash another time. So it is safe to say that there is a connection between this BSOD and the game. However the solution for this problem still elude me

STOP 0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Usual causes:
Defective hardware (particularly memory - but not just RAM), Faulty system service, Antivirus, Device driver, NTFS corruption, BIOS.

Your latest dump file lists Memory_Corruption as the probable cause which usually indicates out of date Drivers, incorrectly configured Memory Timings, mismatched Memory or Bad Memory.
Old and incompatible drivers can and do cause issues with Windows 7, often giving false error codes. Random stop codes can often indicate hardware issues.

As a Priority:

dtsoftbus01.sys Mon Oct 17 13:12:30 2011 The dtsoftbus01.sys driver has been known to cause problems on some Windows 7 systems. This belongs to Daemon Tools Light. I suggest uninstalling DT Light until your blue screens are resolved.

You may want to try setting the rams Command Rate in bios from 1T to 2T.

Drivers that pre-date Windows 7. Update:

asusgsb.sys Thu Sep 27 14:14:50 2007 ASUS Virtual Video Capture Device Driver

GEARAspiWDM.sys Mon May 18 13:17:04 2009 Gear Software CD-ROM Class Filter Driver v4.019.1 (Oct 2011). Also loads with iTunes

fsvista.sys Tue Mar 18 06:37:07 2008 F-Secure Make sure you have the latest version as an older version had issues with Windows 7.

Let us know how it goes. If you get further problems with blue screens, attach your new dump files and details and we'll move on from there.

As of yesterday night I got a bunch of more of BSOD but I guess I will try your instruction up there to see if there is any change before I upload new dmp files. I even tried the Memory Diagnostic Tools from Windows, the first test some how fail to complete when it reach 74% the screen just freeze , my keyboard also freezed (caplock won't respond). So I tried to run it a second time and it said everything was in order.

About your instruction, my F-Security is up to date, but I do not quite understand what I'm supposed to do with other parts

Hi once again, After a day of BSOD free I thought the problem was fixed, albeit that notions seems to be wishful thinking. I'm posting my newest dmp files for diagnosis, it seems that the problem has somewhat shifted to a different one namely PFN_LIST_CORRUPT code 0x0000004e. Please help me to diagnosis this

From using the Verifier programs I found 3 more mini dump files with the same error that may finally help to identify the problem. Please someone take a look for me

Can you please fill in your system specs as completely as you can. This will also assist us in determining a course of action as well.

When attaching dmp files, PLEASE put them all in a single zipped folder

Hi Jimmy

About your instruction, my F-Security is up to date
The F-Security program contains drivers that pre-date Windows 7. An older version of F-Secure had issues with Windows 7. Whether that older version included those drivers installed on your system I cannot remember for sure.

To that end I'm going to suggest that you uninstall F-Secure at least until your bluescreens are resolved.

Replace with Link Removed due to 404 Error Make sure Windows Firewall is re-enabled!

Should I update my bios?
Your bios looks pretty new but if there is an update that appears to address issues you may be having, then I'd update.
Does Asus have an update utility? If it does I'd run that, see if it suggests anything.

Also, I wouldn't run DriverVerifier unless specifically requested.

Thanks for keeping up with me so far guys I really appreciate it,
I think I'm starting to figuring out the cause of my frequent BSOD. But first I would like to provide a complete spec of my PC I just built this week
Mainboard (Brought new)
Asus P8H61 PRO B3 Intel H61 LGA1155

CPU (Brought New)
Intel Core i5 2500K 3,3 GHz LGA1155

Ram
(Brought New)
Corsair 4GB (2X2GB) DDR3 1333MHz kit XMS3 DHX
GPU (Brought New)
Asus ENGTX560 DCII TOP/2DI/1GD5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX560 1 GB
Hard driver (Used with my previous desktop)
2 Seagate SATA HDD (1 is 160GB and the other is 1500GB)
PSU (Used with my previous desktop)
Corsair CX500W CX 500 W ATX

To summarize the events till now, my computer keep crashing at random interval with various BSOD error. One problem seems to keep reoccurring, my computer would randomly restart or freeze itself at certain time. At first I thought it was random but with more of them reoccurring there was a certain pattern to it, specifically when my PC is under heavy load ex: when I was running the Window Memory Diagnostic tool it freeze, when window is applying update at pre-login it also would randomly shut itself down. So today I got fed up and decided to reinstall the whole window. In the process of Installing the window 7 at somewhere halfway my whole computer restart suddenly forcing me to start the installation from beginning. Since the restart happened in a middle of Window installation, most likely the cause is not with Window it self

I'm suspecting the problem may lie in my PSU since it has only 500W. When i first planned to upgrade my computer I used this PSU calculator and they recommend my setup with 380W which is more than enough with my current PSU. But then today after these frequent crash and restart I tried another PSU calculator from Asus and they said that the Minimum requirement for my setup is 500W NOT including usb devices.

In conclusion, I would like to ask. Does anybody know if insufficient power in PSU can be the cause for all the dmp files I have produced up till now? If I need to get a new PSU do you have any recommendation? Since I'm pretty much broke after buying those 4 new parts, I would buy a new PSU when I'm absolutely sure that these restart and BSOD are caused by my PSU

Ok so I just completed a 6 hours memtest and 11 passes with both of my RAM stick on. The results show no problem/errors whatsoever with the standard settings . At this point do you think we can rule out the memory issues?. Since my re installation of Windows I can say that the frequency of these crashes has gone down considerably. However there is still the issues with the random restart that happen when Window is starting up. Plus the BSOD is not entirely gone here is my latest dmp files.

*sigh* Is building a computer by yourself always this problematic? As I stated before this is my first attempt at building a gaming PC from scratch. I'm happy that I was able to save a lot of money and I also learned a lot about computer in the process but these BSOD are such a killjoy.

Normally not....the key to building a rig is doing the research well in advanced to know what hardware is going to compatible with each other before one purchases the hardware.

Still waiting on your system specs, with this information we can tell if there is a compatibility issue, if your PSU is of sufficient enough to power all your hardware. Do you have all the hardware firmly seated all the way? Are there any grounding issues with loose wire? Do you have all the correct power connections to mobo, GPU? All of this is very vital information, otherwise it's like looking for a needle in the proverbial haystack

STOP 0x00000109: CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION
Usual causes:
Device driver, Breakpoint set with no debugger attached, Hardware (Memory in particular).

Do not replace with Daemon Tools!!

Some alternatives to DT/Alcohol for drive emulation that do not use SPTD.SYS (In no order).
Link Removed - Invalid URL Very small at just over 1Mb installed and can emulate up to 18 drives.(My preference).
Link Removed - Invalid URL (The program is a trial but the drive emulation is free forever).
Virtual CloneDrive

Apart from that, your drivers look good. You need to follow Bassfishers advice so to move on.

I already posted my spec but I will post them again if you need

If you need more details on these spec please provide me with the specific question.
As far as the installation of components go, I reseat firmly all of the possible connection that I was able to. Power connection should be fine since all of the fans and system( CPU,GPU,HDD etc..) are running. One problem maybe is that while the LED light in the case is on, I have yet to hear any sound from it, no beep when the computer turn on. I suppose this has to deal with the case sound connection..... I connected it to the audio slot on my mobo, it seems to fit but no beep is coming from it.

As far as memory configuration go, I put everything to default and auto in my BIOS. Since I have no knowledge with those BIOS setting , I didn't want to meddle with them anyway

About Daemon tool, I'm sorry that I seems to keep making you telling me to uninstall it. But I used to use Window 7 32 bit, with that I never had any issues with daemon tool. Plus this time I made sure that the SPTD is NOT installed in my system. I will remove daemon tool and try your other programs. I really wish daemon tool was the only problem, but I suspect that the problem lie in the hardware, either because I incorrectly configure them or the PSU is not giving enough power

Oh ok, I'm sorry I wasn't aware of that function in this forum. I will proceed to update it

Done, it should be on my profile now. I hope it should be satisfactory, in case there is something unclear please inform me .

Thanks for the specs....I believe I found your problem. It seems you have a limitation of the RAM you have do to the CPU you are using. Checking your QVL RAM list from Asus, that memory your have is not supported. Here are some spec shot's....
