Windows 7 Can't open link in outlook

I am using Windows 7 , Outlook for email and Explorer 8. When in Outlook, I can not open links highlighted in blue. A screen comes up and says open with, and it shows different selections but nothing works and I can't open the link. Seems like it is blocked. If I revert to Mozilla Firefox as the browser the links open with no problem in Outlook.
I can't seem to find a setting in Explorer to fix this. Anyone have any ideas on this issue.
