I have a Presario x1000 laptop, that meets and exceeds the Vista min requirements. My DVD drive for some reason refuses to recognize the Vista DVD. Like it doesn't exist. It reads other DVDs, and my Dell laptop loads the Vista DVD just fine. Does anyone know how to solve this conundrum?

Is this RTM? I thought its not out for a few days. Figure out if DVD is defective. Try it in other computers or try to burn a copy and install from that

I've got the Vista Business from a promotion MS was running. It's a genuine disk. The DVD is just fine. I've tried it in a Dell lappy and it ran like a charm.

Got this sorted now. Went to HP/ Compaq website and got firmware update for Cd/ DVD drive and now Vista is installed!
