Windows Vista Computer delayed in connecting to internet after hibernation

I'm using Windows 7 Professional X64. Service Pack 1 - Build 7601. Dell Latitude E6520.

After hibernation, my laptop takes a while to automatically connect to my wireless network/the internet. Connections are available, it just does not connect automatically. Went into Device Manager and Power Save mode is off. Kaspersky firewall is not blocking the connection. I tried the trouble shooting steps on the Microsoft website but they didn't solve my problem. I uninstalled suspected programs that may be the cause, and that didn't work. Ran Kaspersky and found no viruses.

Let me know if any other info will help. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Problem solved. Hope I didn't waste anyone's time. Took a shot at re-enabling power save mode and that's all it took. Don't understand it, but it worked.
