Windows 7 Desktop Background Keeps Reverting to Black: Seeking Help for Persistent Issue

hey guys, when i change my desktop background, to any picture in any format, after a while it reverts back to a black backround. It might be something simple, but im not really technical =P
i tried adding themes and making a slide thing, where it changes pictures every 1 day, but it still didnt work. Any help would be appreciated.

Although the question does stand.. Are your drivers and system Bios the latest versions?

i think theyre the latest ones, because my brother always gets me anything new that comes out.

Well as long as everything is updated, what about security? Which, if any, are you running?

What means did you use to activate the OS?

im running avg anti virus free, the latest version

Kronos, what is the actual name and manufacturer of your machine? I'll check to see if any Bios updates are forth coming...

I think RAK is onto the problem. I know this problem is what happens when you do not have genuine windows after the trial period expires. It changes your background to solid black and will keep reverting it until you make windows genuine.
