Hello Everyone,

I am having a problem with my new windows 7 installation.

The NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT grapics card will not work at higher resolutions?

The slider is greyed out and stuck at 800 X 600?

I have tried many different nvidia drivers but to no avail.

Is it possible that a motherboard bios update may resolve this issue provided one is available?

Thank you for any suggestions you may have.

Does your system recognize the monitor, any drivers for it? Are you overclocking the Video Card?

What connection to the monitor are you using? Are other connections available, or other monitors?

Yes no problem recognizing monitor. Win 7 automatically installed drivers for the nvidia 8800 GT and when it restarted it was only letting me have 800 X 600 and the resolution slider was greyed out so I could not change it to a higher resolution. I found at least three othere nvidia drivers but they all did not help. When I uninstalled these new drivers I was immediately able to get higher resolution untill i did a restart and it went back to 800 600 and then win 7 automatically put back in the Microsoft version of the nvidia drivers which of course does not work properly?

Thank you for your help

If you want to test, you can use the Winkey+Pause to open the System control panel. Then Advanced System Settings and Hardware tab. Set the driver updates option there and maybe Windows will not try to replace the ones you install.

There may be a situation where Windows thinks the drivers are not correct, for some reason.
