Windows 7 DNS server not responding ~

Hi! Yesterday my computer's internet broke randomly- I've never had this problem before. I've had my dad check ipconfig and everything looked okay to him. But it won't work. We have a modem and mine is the only one not working on the network. (Mine is a wired connection) I've already tried a few things from research:

- deleted the recent windows updates + blocked the updater
- temp. disabled AVG
- system restore
- resetting internet
- dns / ip already set to obtain address automatically
- restarted computer
- loading internet in safe mode
- disabling and enabling internet connection

Edit: nvm this post or delete please! I don't know what happened, but switching to a wireless connection worked.
