Hi all, i got an XP installed on my C drive.. and about 2 weeks ago i installed the Windows 7 on D drive [which is additional partition of same Hard disk], to test it , anyway i finally formmated the D partition and deleted Windows 7. well - now in every time that my computer starts - im getting annoying 40 sec' choise between "Windows 7" and "Earlier edition of Windows".. despite of the permenent delition of Windows 7, -my boot.ini is seems to be just fine :
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
.. what sould i do ? :] thx you guys youre doin great job here!!!

Solution
Well it looks like windows 7 is still in the boot loader and as default.

I only know from vista.

Try going to run and typing msconfig. If that works tell me and then i know.

When you go to msconfig is there a tab that says boot. Are you able to select options on it.
