Hello.

I am upgrading a HP Laptop computer to Windows 7 and there is a problem with the keyboard driver.

The "compatibility check" specifies the problem as the "keyboard filter"

I am new here. Is this an appropriate forum to address this problem ?

Thanks,

bdaniel

What is the specific make and model of your HP laptop? Have you run the Windows 7 upgrade advisor for any other hardward software issues?

Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - Download - Microsoft Windows

So glad to get a reply.

It is a "G70" series HP

No other listed compatibility problems listed except "keyboard filter"by upgrade advisor.

Thanks so much.

I am not completely sure what a keyboard filter is, but probably it is associated with the driver for that device. Have you checked for an updated driver for Vista? Perhaps that would allow an upgrade since many Vista drivers will work in Windows 7.

You always have the option to do a custom install which does not use the old drivers.
