Dear friends, i recently bought a keyboard for my laptop with windows 7 professional os. The device was not successfully installed. When i checked it in the device manager there is a unknown device. How do i make my keyboard work ??? Please help me ASAP guys.

Some specifics regarding the exact Manufacturer, Model Name, Model Number and any other identifying tags, along with how the keyboard is attached to your laptop might help us help you.

Keyboards are usually usual stuff, and Windows recognizes them automatically. It's mere plug-and-play. Sometimes they do come with specific software. If so, you should use the installation disc. But, Windows does mostly work with default settings, even if with more sophisticated ware. Merely an issue of not perhaps getting all out of it?

Have you checked by right clicking in Device Manager? "Update driver software"?

And the classic: you don't have it connected to mouse contact? If USB, check that part.
