Windows 7 No Sound - Asus M2N-MX board

Hi

My sound drivers were installed automatically by the windows without any problems but I am getting no sound. When I play something I even see its sound amplitude in the volume control.
I also tried running the ASUS motherboard setup with Vista compatibility after uninstalling drivers but this resulted in the detection of no sound devices. The setup finished without problems but no new sound devices were found during the or after the installation.

Also, there are so many drivers out there I do not know which one to install. Not sure if I am installing the right one.

Kindly help. I need sound!

Do you used to use AC97 drivers? I have a similar problem with a AMN2 sometimes it sorts of does not recognize the fact the jacks are connected. If I do boot in linux and play a sound then come back to win it comes back to normal. Can you try this?
