Windows 10 PC resets itself whilst playing game, then updates

also i remmber i couldnt get rid of that asus thing in my add and remove programs, nor did i install that other program that was very long winded, i think we spoke about it ages ago

I haven’t got round to that yet but I’ve bern thinkin what if it’s somthing to do with my psu voltage?
It's pretty important that you run optimised defaults from the bios as this set's the system up with the correct default settings.

Can you post the make and model of your psu please.

going to have to take my pc apart to find the model of my psu i have a few pics here maybe they can help but doubtful.
Took these whilst dusting it out

I always do.

When you were dusting the machine out, see under the cpu fan? Ideally you want to detach that fan and give the fins a really good clean.

Looks like your good to go with memtest. Remember the longer the better when running this, at least 12hrs if you can manage it.

Kemical I have just found all my pc parts and documents with information of when I bought it. Will upload documents via phone pics

Thanks for that. Your PSU is plenty powerful enough (and a good make toboot). You can still have a faulty cable so if anything is suspect, replace it.

Good luck with the testing.

i was rummaging through my bookshelf to find that paper. will now get on with memtest, you mentioned the test being very long?

The gpu needs at least a 400W PSU so as yours is 450W your fine.

Still go ahead with memtest to try and determine the random restarts ?

Sure, why not? If anything, once tested, you can at least tick the RAM off as possible suspects.

Start it running just before you go to bed and leave it running overnight. Just make sure you test for at least 12hrs.

christ does it actually have to be 12 hours !? i was thinking or assuming you can just do a standard 1 to 2 hours tes?T :s

No where near long enough.

Sometimes errors won't show until 10hrs or more has passed so yes it's better to run it for 12hrs. Memtest86 tests your RAM with many different tests that may reveal the error if there is one. You want your RAM to be tested properly I'm sure which means testing it for 10-12hrs.

Memtest is best run for 7+ hours. Unless you get errors straight away

Download Windows 10

What I do when installing the os again is first make sure I have have all the necessary drivers (I posted a link for yours at the beginning of this thread).

I then unplug the network cable so windows update cannot download any drivers. Once I've installed the versions i want then I'll reconnect the cable
