I have to different DVD drivers:

LG GH20NS10
SONY AD-7240S

and both of them I can't make work with windows 7.

LG it doesn't even recognize the dvd I insert, and it freezes even if I just open "My computer".
Sony it recognizes but everytime I try to play a DVD or click a data it freezes and I have to restart.
But both of them are recognized in BIOS and by windows.

I don't know what to do anymore. Already updated firmware for both of them.
I tried start the pc without the 2 plugged together also. (one by time)

My pc specifications:

AMD Athlon 64 x2 5200+
2x 1gb RAM kingston DDR2800
Asus M2N-VM DVI motherboard
2 HDD:
500gb seagate SATA
160gb samsung SATA
ATI Radeon X1950GT
Corsair 400w power supply

I would really appreciate if someone can help me. And sorry if has been already solved before, i searched a lot here and outside the forum, and couldn't find the answer.

Thanks!

    ]Check IDE/SATA Cable Connections:
    • Ensure the IDE/SATA cables connecting the DVD drives to the motherboard are securely plugged in. Try swapping cables or ports to rule out any hardware issues.
    []Compatibility Mode:
    • Right-click on the DVD drive in Device Manager, go to Properties, navigate to the Compatibility tab, and try running it in compatibility mode with an older version of Windows.
    [
    ]Power Options:
    • Adjust power settings to prevent the drives from going into power-saving mode.
    • Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Change Plan Settings > Change advanced power settings and set Turn off hard disk after to 0 minutes.
    []Check for Software Conflicts:
    • Temporarily disable any CD/DVD burning software or virtual drive programs that might be conflicting with the DVD drives.
    [
    ]Check System Event Viewer:
    • Look for any error messages related to the DVD drives in the Event Viewer (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer).
    []BIOS Settings:
    • Confirm that the BIOS settings are correctly configured to detect the DVD drives. Check for any specific settings related to IDE/SATA devices.
    [
    ]Test on Another PC:
    • If possible, test the DVD drives on another PC to determine if the issue is with the drives themselves.

      Additional Notes:

Your system specifications seem adequate for running Windows 7 and using DVD drives. Since the drives are recognized in BIOS and Windows, the issue might be related to compatibility or software settings. Try these steps and let me know if any of them help resolve the problem with your DVD drives. If the issue persists, we can explore further options.
