It seems like you are trying to set up file sharing and internet sharing between two PCs connected via a crossover Ethernet cable, with one PC connected to the internet through a D-Link DSL-200 USB ADSL WAN Modem. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issues you are facing:

Step 1: Check Network Settings

  1. Verify Network Adapter Configurations:
    • Ensure that the IP addresses of both PCs are in the same subnet but different from the D-Link modem's subnet.
    • Set static IP addresses on both PCs within the same subnet range (e.g., 192.168.0.x).

      Step 2: Enable Sharing Options

Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issues you are facing:

Step 1: Check Network Settings

  1. Verify Network Adapter Configurations:
    • Ensure that the IP addresses of both PCs are in the same subnet but different from the D-Link modem's subnet.
    • Set static IP addresses on both PCs within the same subnet range (e.g., 192.168.0.x).

      Step 2: Enable Sharing Options

[]Check Network Discovery and File Sharing:
    • On both PCs, ensure that network discovery and file sharing are turned on.
    • Open "Network and Sharing Center" > "Change advanced sharing settings" and enable these options.

Step 3: Set Up Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)

    [
]Configure ICS on the First PC:
    • Go to the network adapter settings of the Realtek RTL8168B/8111B NIC on the first PC.
    • Enable Internet Connection Sharing for the adapter connected to the D-Link modem.

Step 4: Verify Firewall and Security Settings

    []Firewall and Security:
    • Temporarily disable the firewall on both PCs to check if it's blocking the connection.
    • Make sure any security software is not interfering with the network.

      Step 5: Create a HomeGroup

    [
    ]Create a HomeGroup:
    • Try creating a HomeGroup on one PC and join the same HomeGroup on the second PC.
    • This should facilitate easier sharing of files within the same HomeGroup.

Step 6: Resolve Unidentified Network Issue

    []Fix Unidentified Network:
    • If the network is showing as Unidentified, try restarting the network adapters or troubleshoot the network connection to identify the issue.

      Step 7: Troubleshoot Internet Connectivity

    [
    ]Internet Access on Second PC:
    • If the second PC doesn't have internet access, check the network adapter settings and ensure that the correct connection is configured for internet sharing.

Step 8: Test File and Internet Sharing

  2. Test File Sharing and Internet Access:
    • Once all settings are configured, test file sharing between PCs and check if the second PC can access the internet through the first PC.
If you encounter any specific errors or issues during these steps, please provide details so that further assistance can be provided.
