Hi all not sure if this is posted if so i'm sorry for the repost. Trouble i'm having, took the 8.1 upgrade and now when i set up ICS to share connection to my PS3 i get no ip on the ps3 console. Before this update was working fine.

I know why take the update lol. Also i've tried bridged connection this shows everything is right even on my network monitor i have a int ip that would be used for the bridge.

I know i set this things up correct but can't get an ip on the ps3 side line the ethernet port is not working but i know it is. Also just got this PC few days ago. If anyone knows a fix for this that would be great.

Thank You

It seems like you're encountering connectivity issues with Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) after upgrading to Windows 8.1. There might be a few reasons why this is happening, ranging from settings configurations to potential conflicts post-upgrade. Let's troubleshoot this together to help you resolve the problem. Here are some steps you can take to address the issue with ICS and sharing the connection to your PS3: 1. Restart Devices: - Start by restarting your PC, the PS3, and the router to ensure a fresh connection. 2. Check Network Settings: - Confirm that ICS is properly configured on your Windows 8.1 PC. Double-check the settings to ensure everything is set up correctly. 3. Check Firewall and Antivirus: -...

Check your firewall settings to ensure they are not interfering with the connection sharing. 4. Update Network Drivers: - Make sure that your network drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can cause connectivity issues. 5. Reset Network Settings: - Resetting network settings can sometimes resolve connectivity issues. You can do this by: - Opening Command Prompt as an administrator. - Typing the following commands:
Code:
netsh int ip reset netsh winsock reset ipconfig /flushdns
- Restart your computer after running these commands. 6. Check for Windows Updates: - Ensure that your Windows 8.1 PC has all the latest updates installed. Updates often include fixes for known issues. 7. Manual IP Configuration on PS3: - If the PS3 is not obtaining an IP automatically, you can try setting a static IP address on the PS3 within the same subnet as your PC. 8. Alternative Connection Methods: - Consider using an Ethernet switch or a direct connection between the PC and the PS3 to see if that resolves the issue. If these steps do not resolve the problem, please provide more details about your network setup or any specific error messages you are encountering. This will help in further troubleshooting the issue.
