Hi All
Im having BSODs recently on random occasions...i might be playing games, surfing...or not doing absolutely anything....I have reinstalled Win 7 ( different releases) few times but no change....I have changed my old hdd to SDD - Vertex 4 so im not sure if this oculd be the case...Also recently my PC reset and my date/time goes back to default settings....i have replaced cmos battery but it still happens...every few days...
Im new to using such forum so please let me know if you need more info..
THanks
Ps...i have attached 2 files of SF diagnostic tool...second (bigger) has pics of CPU-Z in it....didnt know how to remove the other one :)

Only 114 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 150 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

We've seen a number of BSOD issues with SSD's. Here's the information that I've compiled so far:
There's not a whole bunch available to test SSD's. The "easiest" test is to remove the SSD, install a platter-based hard drive, install Windows and test for stability that way.

Here's some suggestions:
- Update the SSD's firmware to the latest available version (VERY IMPORTANT!!!)
- Update the motherboard controllers drivers to the latest available version from the controller manufacturer (NOT the mobo manufacturer unless you can't find any on the controller manufacturer's website). Be sure to update ALL controllers on the motherboard! I STRONGLY suggest not using controller drivers older than mid-2012 with SSD's.
- Slow the memory (RAM) down to the next slower speed (I've only seen one person who claimed that this worked for them).
- Use any manufacturer's utilities that you may have. If you don't have any, then try this free one (I haven't used it myself): Crystal Dew World
....NOTE: Recently (Nov 2011) we had BSOD issues with the Marvell 91xx controller and an SSD. You may have to switch controllers also.
- Replace the SSD with a platter based hard drive and see if that stops the BSOD's. If it does, then it's likely that there's a problem with the SSD OR an incompatibility with your system.
06 Dec 2011 - This post tends to confirm issues with certain SSD chipsets and certain controllers - [SOLVED] cant find the cause of BSOD F4 - Tech Support Forum
05 Jan 2013 - very interesting post about difficulties with the Marvell controllers even when not connected to the SSD drives: https://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cr...-pc-reboots-when-waking-sleep.html#post169956
27 Feb 2013 - I'm starting to see much better reliability with SSD's using current (mid-2012 and later) storage drivers. I have withdrawn my objections to using these devices in everyday systems.

This looks to be a low-level driver/hardware issue:
The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things:
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers)
- low-level driver problems
- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from Initial Hardware Diagnostics or Hardware Diagnostics ).

Please immediately update the Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility driver. You have the 2005 version installed - and it is a known cause of BSOD's on Windows systems. Download and install the latest version (2009) from the Asus website for your motherboard/system.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

VIA High Definition Audio Function Driver

If this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please do these 2 things:
- run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings
- run these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics

HI
Thanks for all the tips..
I have updated viahduaa.sys and ASACPI.sys. Firmware for my ssd is up to date, bios is up to date and i could not find any update for my chipset Intel® P45 / ICH10. My PC was running whole day today...although it was mostly surfing and no crashes....My Pc crashed only tonight when i was watching football ( stream online) but there was no minidump file created and no BSOD...just crash...i think it might be some graphic issues now. I will try checking and will update if more BSODs appear.
If anyone can have a look at my dump files and suggest anything that would be great....
I will keep this thread open just to make sure no more BSODs occure while doing more things on my PC than just browsing....Thanks again for help

What do you mean by "just crash"? What exactly did the computer do/not do?

Have you run the hardware diagnostics that I suggested?
Have you run Driver Verifier like I suggested?

Hi
I checked and my dump files were changed, they changed to full dump files and no restart option was ticked so file MINIDUMP was created and it was over 300MB big. I have noticed few things
- ran SSDLife Free and no errors reported
- ran Memtest86 and got like over 2k errors....it was running for about 8hours
- when i reboot my PC with usb stick ( with memtest or blank) my PC will crash straightaway after logging to windows (desktop will show for 2seconds and it crash)
- when remove usb stick it will boot OK
- i have problems installing any apps installers will go through first few steps but when it comes to status/progress bar it will freeze ( trying install steam atm and nothing is happening)
- whole PC seems to be working slower since yesterday
- after few minutes steam installed eventually
- playing some music and its glitching
I am not sure if its memory related, or SSD or motherboard or software.
Please see attached dump which occurred this morning when i booted my PC with memory stick plugged in.
Im bit busy at work/home atm with many things so dont have that much time to run deep testing but thanks for all help again....Will keep yous all updated
THanks

Follow the steps here (from Step 6 or 7 onwards) to test all sticks and slots: Memory Diagnostics
Then replace the bad components.

Then see if the BSOD's come back.

Hi,
Sorry for no reply but its really intensive days for me and no time for my PC at all....I ran few more tests of my memory (both and single memory sticks ) and got no errors. I have put back my old sata HDD with installed System on it and will keep it going for day or two and see if i get BSODs. If i wont get any it will means its the SSD which cause all the problems. Not sure if it means its damaged or its just some software / drivers issue though.
THanks

SSD Troubleshooting:
The crashes you are receiving are common with SSDs when there are incompatible drivers, hardware, BIOS, or firmware issues. Proceed with SSD troubleshooting:
  • Make sure the following are up to date:
    • SSD firmware
    • BIOS Version
    • Chipset Drivers
    • Hard disk controller drivers/SATA drivers
    • If you have a Marvell IDE ATA/ATAPI device, make sure the drivers are up to date from the Intel site or Marvell site and not from your motherboard/vendor support site.

  • If this is a desktop system, try connecting the drive to a different hard disk controller connection, i.e. Marvell instead of Intel, ASMedia instead of Intel, Intel instead of ASMedia or Marvell, etc.
  • Try doing a power cycle of the SSD. The following steps should be carried out and take ~1 hour to complete.
    1. Power off the system.
    2. Remove all power supplies (ac adapter then battery for laptop, ac adapter for desktop)
    3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to close the circuit and drain all components of power.
    4. Reconnect all power supplies (battery then ac adapter for laptop, ac adapter for desktop)
    5. Turn on the system and enter the BIOS (see your manual for the steps to enter the BIOS)
    6. Let the computer remain in the BIOS for 20 minutes.
    7. Follow steps 1-3 and physically remove the SSD from the system by disconnecting the cables for a desktop or disconnecting the drive from the junction for a laptop.
    8. Leave the drive disconnected for 30 seconds to let all power drain from it.
    9. Replace only the drive power connection if it is a desktop, (fully reconnect the drive to the system if it is a laptop) and then do steps 4-8 again.
    10. Follow steps 1-3 again.
    11. Reconnect the drive fully to the system.
    12. Reconnect all power supplies (battery then ac adapter for laptop, ac adapter for desktop)
    13. Start your computer normally and run Windows.

The above steps were a result of: Why did my SSD "disappear" from my system? - Crucial Community

While that may not be your drive, a power cycle should be the same on all SSD drives. See how the system responds after the SSD power cycle.
