Re-formatting disk stops my clean install. Windows wants me to enable the disc controller in the BIOS-menu, but there is nothing in my BIOS menu that will let me do that. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hello and welcome to the windows7forums.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Device Manager and look for any entry with a yellow flag.

Check SATA Enable/Disable options in your bios. ... and maybe even reset your bios to factory settings if that doesn't work.. Sometimes I have to totally power down to get bios changes activated.
