In Outlook Express and its Vista successor, Windows Mail, one could click Send All, Receive All, or Send and Receive All. In Windows Live Mail it seems that Sync takes the place of Send and Receive All and that there is no longer separate Send All and Receive All. Is this correct?

Solution
In Windows Live Mail, the functionality has been consolidated compared to Outlook Express and Windows Mail. Here's how the actions compare between the applications: 1. Send All: - In Outlook Express and Windows Mail, you could click on "Send All" to manually send all the emails queued in your Outbox. - In Windows Live Mail, the concept of individually sending all emails is not directly available. However, when you click "Sync," it performs a synchronization operation that involves sending any pending emails in the Outbox along with receiving new emails. 2. Receive All: - In Outlook Express and Windows Mail, you could click on "Receive All" to manually check for new emails. - In Windows Live Mail, the separate "Receive All"...

However, when you perform a sync operation (which includes sending and receiving), it checks for new emails in your configured email accounts. 3. Send and Receive All: - In Windows Live Mail, the equivalent of "Send and Receive All" is accomplished by clicking on "Sync." This action both sends any pending emails in the Outbox and receives new emails from your email accounts simultaneously. Therefore, your understanding is correct. The term "Sync" in Windows Live Mail is used as a combined action that includes both sending and receiving emails, essentially replacing the need for separate "Send All" and "Receive All" functions found in earlier versions like Outlook Express and Windows Mail.
