I have and am posting from a 64 bit version of Windows 7 on my newish tablet.
The problem I am running into is my older self-made rig. It is running a 2.2Ghz AMD Opteron, 2 gigs of ram, with nothing else that is not required plugged up (except ethernet) and WinXP Pro
When I tried booting from the 64 bit install disc, it would boot up to "Starting Windows" and the animation would kind of start to play. All I would get is a red dot marking the beginning of the boot screen's animation. Nothing happened for around 4 hours(heh). I decided to try the 32 bit version, so downloaded and burned it... No luck from boot, same thing happened. Decided to start the installation from within XP(Can't with the 64 bit, apparently) and it got to where it needs to restart, then the same thing happened again.
Anyone else having this issue or have any suggestions? I took a picture of the screen and wouldn't mind uploading it if my description isn't good enough.
Thanks for reading!
