I'm running win7 64 bit with the latest version of Rocketdock. I just got it a couple of days ago.

It was starting fine and then I got this error message saying something about Rocketdock being unable to start because of my icons and it asked me to revert back to the default icons. I always hit don't revert back and then it starts up. It only starts up if I click the shortcut. I don't get that message anymore but now it doesn't even show up in the task manager processes on startup. It used to show up, but it wasn't actually running on the desktop. So, the bottom line is, how can I get it to run on startup?

Solution
It seems like RocketDock, a desktop customization tool, is not starting automatically with Windows 7 even though you want it to run on startup. To resolve this issue and ensure that RocketDock starts up automatically when you boot your system, you can follow these steps:

Making RocketDock Start on Windows 7 Startup:

  1. Check Startup Folder:
    • Open the Start Menu and navigate to All Programs > Startup.
    • Check if RocketDock is listed in the Startup folder. If it's not there, you can add a shortcut to RocketDock in this folder.
    []Check RocketDock Settings:
    • Open RocketDock by running it manually.
    • Right-click on the RocketDock icon and choose Settings.

    ]Registry Editing (Advanced):
    • Press Win + R, type in regedit, and hit Enter to open the Windows Registry Editor.
    • Navigate to the following registry key:
      Code:
       HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    • Check if there is an entry for RocketDock. If not, you can add one:
      • Right-click on the right panel, choose New > String Value.
      • Name the new string value as RocketDock.
      • Double-click on RocketDock and set its value to the path of the RocketDock executable file.
  2. Task Scheduler:
    • Press Win + R, type in taskschd.msc, and hit Enter to open Task Scheduler.
    • Click on Create Basic Task.
    • Follow the wizard to create a task that starts RocketDock on system startup. After following these steps, RocketDock should launch automatically when you start Windows 7. Let me know if you encounter any issues or need further assistance!
