Windows 7 Unable to create repair disc (Error: the system cannot find the path specified - 0x80070003)

I have been using Win7 Backup & Restore (without errors) for years. After I did my weekly 'Create System Image' to an external HDD, I went to create a System Repair Disc & up popped the following error message

I've run chkdsk, both my CD/DVD drives are fine & I've run recdisc from the cmd prompt - all to no avail. If anyone has any ideas (without re-imaging my HDD), I would be forever grateful...
