Windows 10 Unexpected Store Exception crash

Hello,

I have been having regular crashes as of late (every day once or twice usually). They were always freezes, my computer would become unresponsive and there would be no blue screen and no dump files generated, so it was very hard to debug. Today it actually produced a blue screen with crash dump that i'd like to share with you guys. I have included the W7F files and a CBS.log from sfc /scannow as it did find some corrupt files. I also did a dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth. Both commands were recommended in a different thread. Complete output of that here:

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.10586]
(c) 2015 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired
them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not
supported in offline servicing scenarios.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 10.0.10586.0

Image Version: 10.0.10586.0

[==========================100.0%==========================]
The restore operation completed successfully.
The operation completed successfully.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>

I was hoping you guys could check out my dump files and check if there would be anything else I can fix.

Thanks!

The dump file is indicating that Windows failed loading data from the hard drive into memory. The hard drive is most likely the culprit in this case, but other reasons for this could include bad memory or malfunctioning AV. I would grab a copy of Hiren's or Ultimate Boot Disc and
  • Run a drive fitness test
  • memory test
  • If those don't detect anything then try disabling or removing your AV and see if the BSOD comes back
Another suggestion would be to look in Device Manager at your Hard drive and if you have a generic driver, check the manufacturer site for a hard drive driver.

Hi,
as your aware windows store caught an unexpected exception. Looking over your dump file there are number of possible issues:
------------------------
Disk & DVD/CD-ROM Drives
------------------------
Drive: C:
Free Space: 19.6 GB
Total Space: 114.0 GB
File System: NTFS
Model: KINGSTON SV300S37A120G

Windows needs at least double of the above free space to work effectively. Please either delete or burn to disk enough data so that you have at least 40GB free space, more if possible.

Drivers

Please remove any MSI applications that might be installed such as:

AsUpIO.sys Tue Aug 03 03:47:59 2010: ASUS/MSI hardware monitoring software related please remove.

You do have driver updates available from your motherboard support page. Please update from the Windows 10 section making sure you update the chipset and storage controller drivers:
Support For X99S SLI PLUS | MSI Global | Motherboard - The world leader in motherboard design

See how you get on after making the above changes.

Please post any new dump files.

I updated my USB, chipset and storage controller drivers and made space on my hard drive. Now I'm having even bigger issues. My USB microphone stopped working completely and is now turning up as an unknown device (it requires no drivers normally so there aren't even specific drivers available for it). Also my explorer.exe freezes every time I try to open file explorer. When I press something like chrome it works.

I think my driver installation corrupted some drivers or something like that... I am now running another sfc /scannow to check for corruption.

I tried to do a windows memory check but every time I try to restart it hangs at the restarting screen... So that won't work. I'll try to make a hiren's boot stick.

I wonder if there's a way to undo the driver updates that I did and broke my system even further.

Edit: sfc /scannow returned nothing. Doing the other dism check now

I also found my favorite game Overwatch won't start anymore. The application starts but the ram doesn't fill up. A ram problem then?

Some applications still work. Others freeze completely on startup. My computer is basically unusable now.

Is system restore an option? I know some don't use it.

When you installed the new driver updates did you remove the original versions first?

Check the device manager, if your seeing yellow question marks or other symbols then you may need to install more drivers did you install the Intel engine management driver as well as the chipset driver?

I have installed an entirely new copy of windows - a Windows 8.1 copy. I got a complete system freeze just now in Overwatch - I only installed Nvidia drivers and Intel drivers and Overwatch to test. No blue screen. I had this problem on my previous installation as well

I have included DxDiag and MSInfo32 files but I don't think that would be of any use... I have event logs but I cannot include those in the post because it's not an allowed extension. I understand if there's nothing more you guys can help me with at this point. Thanks for the help though - I really appreciate it.

I have a laptop that just freezes up with alot of the newer Nvida drivers. I have to block updates to the driver and can only use their driver from 4/30/2015. It also never BSODs.
