Windows Vista Wallpaper won't show

I have Vista home, and I have been having this problem where my desktop wallpaper won't show.
It shows up as Solid Black but When i see through my clear Vista start menu I can see the wallpaper that I have set.

Please list machine spec when posting questions..

You don't say if your drivers are up to date?
 
I am pretty sure all my drivers are up to date.

So what happens if you right-click on an image and choose 'set as background'?
 
A solid color covers it, but i can see my icons.
Right now, Black is my background but i have one of those vista wallpapers hiding behind it.

I can see the vista wallpaper through the clear vista start menu.
 
Hmm.... Try this.. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and right-click
on the Command Prompt and choose "Run as administrator".
Type in: SFC /SCANNOW and press your Enter key.

This should repair/replace any missing or corrupt files.
