Windows 10 When I create a single folder on the desktop I get 4

When I create a single folder on the desktop I get 4 instead (Right click>New>Folder), like the following? Help Appreciated, IM

New Folder(3)

It might be the the right hand switch on your mouse. Have you tried another mouse or have you tried this mouse on another PC?

Interesting thought, I hadn't considered that. I've been dealing with the issue for weeks. I created a folder a minute ago and got just one? If the problem returns I'll let you know if your idea works.

And also, is your mouse wireless or wired (with a cord on it)? If wireless, change the batteries on it and try on another PC as Henk suggests. Have seen this failure on wireless mice with failing or low batteries. Does your mouse have a Green Light on the top?
