Solution
It seems like there may be an issue with how Windows is handling the Taskbar settings in your user account. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Restart Your Computer

Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve unexpected behavior in Windows. Make sure to restart your system first to see if that fixes the problem.

2. System File Checker (SFC) Scan

  1. Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
  2. Run the following command: sfc /scannow
  3. Wait for the scan to complete and follow any on-screen instructions.

    3. Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter

  4. Open Settings.
  5. Go to Update & Security.

    4. Create a New User Account

Creating a new user account can help determine if the issue is account-specific. If the problem doesn't occur in the new account, you may consider using the new account.

    5. Perform a System Restore

If the problem started recently, you can perform a System Restore to revert your system to a previous point when it was working correctly.

    6. Check Third-Party Software

Sometimes, third-party software can conflict with system settings. Check if any recently installed programs could be causing this behavior.

    7. Check for Malware

Run a full antivirus scan to ensure that the system is not infected with malware that could be causing this issue.

    8. Windows Update

Make sure your Windows system is up to date. Sometimes, bugs are fixed with system updates.

    9. Contact Support

If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance. Try these steps to see if they resolve the issue of System32 opening when clicking on Taskbar settings.
