Microsoft has recently released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27868 to the Canary Channel, introducing several enhancements and fixes aimed at improving user experience and system stability.
Voice Access Enhancements
A notable addition in this build is the immersive in-product experience for Voice Access. This feature is designed to inform users about new functionalities and improvements within Voice Access, facilitating quicker discovery and adoption of features. Users can access or dismiss this experience through the settings menu.
Resolved Issues
The update addresses several issues:
- Input: Resolved an issue causing non-responsiveness in pen input on certain PCs supporting inking, which also affected some touch interactions.
- Application Launch: Fixed an underlying issue that led to applications like Spotify failing to launch or install from the Microsoft Store, displaying error code 0x80070032.
- Group Policy Editor: Corrected rendering issues in the Group Policy Editor for display languages such as Chinese, which previously resulted in large blank areas.
- System Stability: Mitigated an issue causing SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED bugchecks in recent Canary builds.
Users should be aware of the following known issues:
- General: [IMPORTANT NOTE FOR COPILOT+ PCs] If you are joining the Canary Channel on a new Copilot+ PC from the Dev Channel, Release Preview Channel, or retail, you will lose Windows Hello PIN and biometrics to sign into your PC with error 0xd0000225 and error message “Something went wrong, and your PIN isn’t available.” You should be able to re-create your PIN by clicking “Set up my PIN.”
