I recently put Windows 7, all nice and beautiful, restart and install drivers make sound when I look at the bottom right appears a red X will not let me hear anything ... I see in device manager sound card, but do not understand why I can not hear anything more I see a message "No speakers or headphones is plugged in" when I put the cursor on the red X icon

Solution
is this a onboard solution such as realtek / soundmax or 3rd party like Xonar/Creative, and have you also correctly inserted the speakers/headphones to correct socket? as some cards will also default to digital out you may also need to change settings on it to the 3.5mm jack outs.
