Anyone know how to make this work?:computer:

On control panel>create a restore point, it says that disk protection is on.
I tried disabling antivirus, firewall, uac, restarted the computer with all services, chkdsk, safe mode, still, same error.

Can you manually create a restore point even though Windows Anytime Upgrade fails to create one?

No.
The restore point could not be created for the following reason:

A Volume Shadow Copy Service component encountered an unexpected error. Check the application event log for more information. (0x80042302)

Please try again.

See if this link is of any help.

0x80042302 on system restore..

Check whether Volume Shadow Copy Service, System Restore Service is started and Set to Automatic

  1. Type Services.msc in Start Menu search box, hit Enter.
  2. Make sure that the Volume Shadow Copy Service is Running and set on Automatic.
  3. If the Status of System Restore Service is not Started, Start it. Also set it on Automatic if it is not.
  4. restart your computer.
Now try to do a system restore.

1.There is no system restore service. Volume shadow copy started and set to automatic.
2. Same error in safemode
3. Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

Try running sfc /scannow from Start, Run, type in sfc /scannow
and then CHKDSK, details on running CHKDSK found here; Improved CHKDSK Utility in Windows 8 w/Tutorial, same process for Windows 7.

Keep us posted

Well, why do you want to disable these security measures?
