Wireless Keyboard Doesn't Work For Windows Error Recovery Screen or when attempting to reach safe mode.
I have no problems with keyboard functions in BIOS Setup or after Windows 7 starts normally.

Solution
When encountering issues where your wireless keyboard (such as the Logitech MX 5500) doesn't seem to work during Windows Error Recovery or when trying to access Safe Mode, but functions correctly in the BIOS setup and after Windows 7 loads normally, there are a few common reasons and solutions to consider:

Possible Causes and Solutions:

  1. Driver Issues:
    • Cause: Windows Error Recovery or Safe Mode might not have the necessary drivers loaded to support your wireless keyboard.

    []Wireless Signal Interference:
    • Cause: Certain wireless devices or environmental factors can interfere with the wireless signal of your keyboard specifically during the early boot stages.
    • Solution:
      • Check if there are any other wireless devices nearby that may be causing interference. Try temporarily moving them away or turning them off.
      • Ensure that the wireless receiver for the keyboard is connected to a USB port directly on the computer and not through a hub.

    ]BIOS Settings:
    • Cause: The BIOS settings might have configurations that affect the connectivity of the wireless keyboard during the boot process.
    • Solution:
      • Check the BIOS settings related to USB configurations and Legacy USB Support. Ensure that USB support is enabled and configured appropriately in the BIOS settings.
  2. Compatibility Issues:
    • Cause: There could be compatibility issues between the wireless keyboard and how the system handles input during the initial boot stages.
    • Solution:
      • Update the firmware of the Logitech MX 5500 keyboard and mouse if available. Check Logitech's official website for any firmware updates for your devices.
      • Contact Logitech's support for further assistance or to check for any known issues or compatibility problems with Windows Error Recovery or Safe Mode.

        Additional Steps to Consider:

        • Check USB Ports: Try using different USB ports for the wireless receiver. Sometimes changing the port can resolve connectivity issues.
        • BIOS Update: Ensure that your system's BIOS is up to date. An outdated BIOS might cause compatibility issues with certain devices.
        • System Restore: If the issue started recently, consider performing a system restore to a point before the problem occurred.
By following these steps and troubleshooting methods, you should be able to address the issues with your Logitech MX 5500 keyboard not working during Windows Error Recovery or Safe Mode while functioning correctly in other scenarios.
