With the computers networks that I install I need all computers to be able to see each other. With XP this is simple. All I need to do is have the same user name and password and workgroup name at each computer. I also create a share on the C drive to all. Then when I go into network places I can see all of the other computers C drives. Now when I add a Win 7 Home premimun in the mix I am stuck. Win 7 wants to tell what kind of connection I have and I can not seem to be able to set it to a open Work type. The computers are not on the internet which Win 7 seems to really not like. Hard time seeing the Win 7 computer from the other XP boxes, networking freezes up.
Is there any way I can Force set the network connection to "Work" and lock it so that it is shared?
