When I try to boot Windows 7 in safe mode it waits several minutes after loading drivers, then closes down and reboots to normal mode. I find this in the process of investigating 'unspecified error 766f6c756d652e63 3f1' whereby I cannot check the disk without first doing a system restore and I...
Hi all!
I gave my old computer an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC (Product Number WA718UA#ABA) to my husband. I bought it brand new from HP in 2009 with all of the fun upgrade. Anyway, I did a fresh install for him when I gave him the computer, basically just wiped everything. It has been working...
I am very impressed with a new Windows 8 New Disk Error Checking Feature.
It takes about 1 minute to complete it and does not require any restart.
I remember, that in order to use the Disk Check tool on the same computer with Windows 7, it was necessary to restart my computer and the Disk...

A couple of days ago there was an update.
After that update my system slowed down a lot. The windows explorer takes about 10 seconds to open.
The same kind of thing happened with the update in the beginning of last November.
Running the disk error check helped a lot (when I finally found some...
Hey y'all!!
I am experiencing an issue with a Win7 laptop crashing pretty consistently. During my attempt to troubleshoot this issue I am learning how to use some of the Window debugging tools (which has been fun) but I think I have finally gotten stuck. I don't know what else to try! It all...

I have been having a lot of blue screens for the past few weeks. I have tried running a disk check and memcheck and those didn't find any problems. I just did a fresh install of windows 7 64 bit and have been having the same problems. Any help is much appreciated. Link Removed

Hello,
My daughter's PC, Windows 7 32 bit, all of a sudden started running chkdsk everytime it is booted up. How do we stop this behavior? Her antivirus is up to date and very efficient so we don't know what the computer is checking for.
Please advise as it is driving her crazy.
Thanks,
pvanc

I have been researching this problem for days, and Windows 7 seems to be a common factor, hence this post. I have a Maxtor Central Axis network drive that I have used for a number of years for backups. I reorganised it a while back and recently decided to do some housekeeping and empty the old...

I installed Windows 7 SP1 64-bit on a Toshiba laptop which used to have Vista 32-bit on it.
Yesterday I put in all the Toshiba drivers and ran chkdsk and am pretty sure it was ok.
I ran chkdsk tonight and got a message that was so quick I can barely...
