I'm hoping someone in this community can help me with a hard drive problem. Recently, I replaced my old laptop (it ran a Linux/Ubuntu OS). Before getting rid of it, I removed the laptop's hard drive with the intent to repurpose it into a portable hard drive. I then encased it within a plug...

Recently just rebuilt my workstation PC to be a lot better for this school year (I'm an engineering student). My hardware is as follows:
AMD Ryzen 7 1800x CPU
AMD WX Radeon Pro 5100 GPU
Samsung 860 Evo 512gb SSD
2 WD 2tb HDD in RAID setup
ASUS Rog Strix B350-F motherboard
Corsair Vengeance RGB...
In 2013, our Vista SP2 Business PC (that OS was pre-installed, and actually great. In our experience, Vista worked as great as Windows 7) with 1 TB HDD had 610 GB free. Suddenly, after a few days, 627 GB were free, then 598 GB, without doing much. Then back to 618 GB free.
Not that I mind it...
Not tested on Windows 2000.
But if I attempt starting a working XP/Vista/7/8/10 HDD via VirtualBox or a different PC, I can only access the boot menu.
Even safe mode results into BSOD.

I have an Acer Aspire V 15 V5-591G-70s6
It has an i7-6700HQ 2.6 GHz, 16GB DDR4 ram, Nvidia GTX 950m, and 2 drives: 128GB SSD that has the OS installed on it and 1TB HDD that just has other things like programs and games.
A while back, the HDD stopped working for a couple days. It just stopped...
Hi all,
I just upgraded from Windows 10 32bits to 64. I used an external hard drive for that and of course, I didn't think about it, everything is gone. Some of it wasn't backed up, so I'd like to get the data back if possible, it'd mean the world to me. My little bit of hope is that my hard...

I'm a former Systems Admin. so I should be able to figure this out, but nope... so I'm asking:
I bought a small, external 2.5 Toshiba HDD to use as additional storage. I put it in a case and plugged it in. No dice, I can't see it in Windows Explorer. I checked Device Manager, and it shows up as...

Hi, the last week I'm been suffering freezes and reboots. I had one or two BSOD but that doesn't seem to be the main problem, and I have no dumps of them.
I have recently changed from a HDD to a SSD, I have applied a theme on my Windows 10, and I have updated to Fall Creators update. I cloned...

Ok, I have received at beat-down trying to install this ssd. Where I am at now. So, put in the ssd, but left my existing hard-drive in (wd caviar black 1TB) as I want to use the ssd for booting and the hdd for storage, etc. I did a clean install from my dvd of Windows 7. The problem I have now...

I have an old pc, which has Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 processor, 1GB DDR2 Ram, 500GB hdd, g31 motherboard.
Windows 7 32bit runs quite good on it.
If I add ram, and increase it to 3/4GB ram.
Will it run windows 10 64bit perfectly,
Or I'll have to use windows 10 32bit instead?
Not sure whats going on but for some dumb reason windows 10 is not recognizing my
3TB Hitachi UltraStar 7K3000 as a HDD
it insists its a SSD.
My 850 evo has to go back to samsung so they told me to clone the c: onto D: then change boot order.
Perfect sense, same as always so I do so and now not...
