Learn everything you need to know about Windows ReadyBoost, as well as how to measure its performance, from Windows expert Joseph Stackhouse at http://windows7forums.com/
I have a Sony VGN-FZ21M laptop that it lacks an internal HDD. Wanting to use it, I have managed to install Windows 7 x64 on a USB 2.0 External HDD. There is certainly a performance decrease due to the External HDD's speed but I can live on that.
So, although the laptop has 2GB of RAM, I am...
So I've been using ReadyBoost for a few years now (4GB stick formatted in exFAT file system seems to work nicely). And now I'm upgrading my system to a hybrid hard drive (was going to do SSD but 750GB with 8BG flash cache was cheap as heck compared to SDD).
I'm looking for someone with real...
I have a new 8 GB memory stick and it passed the readyboost test - initially. But I wanted to dedicate the device to readyboost so I reformatted to NTFS (was FAT32 initially) and now all I can get is "This device cannot be used with Readyboost". I have tried a command line test that gives me a...

Ever since the switch from Vista 64x, games have actually been running worse. Mostly it's just minor slowdown, but FIFA 10 is particularly bad, it's very choppy. I've already disabled a lot of unnecessary services and programs, defrag regularly and have the latest drivers.

If I use 8GB SD for readyboost with Win7(starter edition) in in a Dell 1011 netbook with 1 GB of RAM, should I increase the size of the paging file to reflect the increase in memory?
Okay, I'm stumped.
When I go under "Uninstall a Program", most of my programs aren't even there. At all. It shows 25 of them, when I have much, much more. I can still use all of my programs (I'm pretty sure!), so what's up with THAT?
Secondly, I can't use ReadyBoost on my flash drive anymore...
