How long should the computer wait before accepting subsequent repeated keystrokes? is set to 0.3 seconds and this is the minimum value, but holding down Backspace still erasing typed text too slow. Changing the value above 0.3 seconds (2.0 seconds is the maximum) makes held down Backspace...
Hi, how's it goin'? I was wondering, with the file path "C:\Windows\System32\oobe\info\backgrounds" and the "regedit.exe" path "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background\OEMBackground" you can make your logon screen have a custom background...

I'm trying to install xp on an old computer we don't use very much. I can't find the product key. Currently i can't connect to the internet. I tried the UNATTENDED file but that code didn't work. I tried the regedit path but there was no WPAEvent listed. Any ideas?
I upgraded to windows 10, but for some reason a large amount of my ram is being used as well. I start up my pc at 70% some times. I have 8gb of ram.
Also, if i were to downgrade back to 8.1, would the ram still get consumed as much?

Just to be clear, it's not one of those usual things. I got Win 7 Home Premium.
CMD, Task Manager, all exe files and GPEdit works fine. Everything works fine actually - exept regedit just does not respond.
I have Nod32 and my PC is virus / malware free.
All I want is just access to registry...

The intent of this post is NOT to open a debate on whether MS should or should not make Windows Update Automatic in Windows 10 TP.
The sole purpose is for users who still prefer to have the option of Manual update.
Go to regedit >

Hi everyone,
wanted to ask the windows guru here on how to perform something..
I remember in the windows XP days, you can use regedit to prevent access to the network properties for your local network adapters (say for example, to prevent users from messing with the ip addresses and so forth)...
I just can't figure this out: When I import/merge a .reg file (v5 format) manually by right-clicking the file in Explorer, it works perfectly. But if I try to import the very same .reg file in a batch file, it doesn't do anything!
The .reg file is only changing keys under HKEY_USERS. Here's a...
