I posted this matter in another section, but only Google search was mentioned. XP had a very useful search utility where you can specify date and size ranges etc. This CAN be done in 7, but is much less user friendly. Is there an app for this, besides Google Desktop Search ? Thanks, Errol

I found out eventually after a lot of frustration that Avast running on the Guest causes problems when updating the VMware Tools. If you don't disable the shields before the update when you reboot Guest the screen will not size properly. I don't know about other antivirus products. Just thought...

I reset my desktop icon size to small; however, every time I reboot, the icons revert to large size. I've searched and searched for solutions and have tried several options with no success....the large icons keep coming back...... Any ideas?? Other than that, Windows 7 is great!
