Hi,
I have run into a problem when upgrading my current machine to use an SSD as the main boot device. I restored a backup of my original Sata drive on to the SSD and I am able to boot from it ok.
My problem is that when I connect the original Sata HD to the machine it appears in the BIOS...

Hello, i have two hard drives:
A 250gb and a 1TB
When I installed windows I chose the 1TB, but just left my other in there as it had some files I wanted on it. Now when I try to remove the 250gb drive, windows will not boot up.
I tried marking the 250gb drive as inactive, but then during boot...

Windows has stopped completing backups. A few weeks ago, I bought an external HD and began doing regular backups that completed with no problems. Now I get a message that Windows backup did not complete successfully. Message also says that the drive that Windows is installed on needs at least...
I had a BSOD pop up, the first on this machine, which indicated this error. I rebooted, and everything runs fine, until I tried to run Skyrim. The game froze during the loading screen, and after a hard re-start, I checked the Event Viewer. There were 1500+ items describing that same error, and...
I've got 4 hard disks (1 system, 3 storage) that are varying degrees of full from 25%-85%. Occasionally, my system will just bog down and I can hear what sounds like a hard drive winding up or something and my system locks up for maybe 5 seconds and then I can use it again. This seems to happen...
Consider the following scenario: You run the "Error-checking" tool on a local disk drive. Once the checking process is completed, if you try to check the disk space of this specific drive immediately, you may notice that the free space of this disk is 0...

Fixes an issue in which you cannot access data that is stored on an RDX removable disk that has no partitions. This issue occurs after you format the disk by using the NTFS file system.

So I had a power surge a few days ago and it fried a lot of devices in my house including my external HDD controller/charger so I removed the HDD from it's case and mounted it in my PC.
So far so good, it was recognised in BIOS, my primary Master and my former ext.HDD Slave, boots up ok but when...
What is the invisible change? I wish I knew, but I can't see it, and that's part of the reason I'm coming to the forums with this problem in the first place. While I may not be an absolute expert on computers, I do know how to do a bit of my own research. However, faced with a problem that I...

For some reason my cementmixer (brain) told me I could set up W8 in the following manner BUT it was a failure.
I used this procedure over 30 years ago on large IBM mainframes. The following was my logic:
On the C drive I only have 1 partition which is used for W7 files etc. I used diskmgmt...

I have been having an on-going issue for some time with my external WD My Book. There are times when it is not being recognized by Windows 7(pro). It has three interface options (fire wire, esata, and USB). I have tried all three at one time or another, finally settling on the eSATA interface...
