Greetings:
Now, for some reasons I had to reinstall Win 8 Pro 9200, but my drive letters got AGAIN screwed up.
Annoyingly, I had to set them all back again, and having 20 partitions, it is a disaster.
If I am, God forbids, to reinstall my W8 once more, is there a way to KEEP the partitions...

Hi.
I don't see any hidden partitions neither in "Disk Manager" nor in "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition".
It turns Windows 7 may don't create a hidden partiton? And use for BOOT, bootmgr and System Volume Information the same partition as for Windows dir? And what does it depend: create...
I am not sure how to recover through a system image.
Will I be given options to create new partitions (C and D drives) if this is necessary and then individually allocate my backup system image partitions to the partitions of my choice?
Hello everyone,

Once again I have setup here an 64bit Win7 pro system.
Many of the files from the D: partition were taken from the previous Win7 system resp. copied from another Win7 (WinXP) computer.
When I look at some of the security tabs of some of the files and folders then various user entries exist...

After some investigations I found out that some (many > 100) files of my hard disc are "sparse" files.
These sparse files are mostly *.pdf and *.avi files.
From what I know so far sparse files are files which occupy not their full official size on the hard disc.
I don't know why e.g. the...
Hi
I posed a few days ago someplace that I found that defragmenting my C:\ drive gave me a real increase in read speed. From about 3 Mbs to 30.
I defraged my B:\ drive (a partition of C:\) and today I tacked D:\ it was a long haul, mostly because it has the compressed back up of C:\ on it...

I've had a major crisis this morning using Acronis to reclaim an empty 8gb partition.
The hdd from left to right, in disk manager was:
8Gb Empty (formerly page file) || D:\Data 210Gb Data || R:\Recovery 80Gb Recovery
Using Acronis I expanded the 210gb to include all the 8Gb so now it would...

I used Paragon Partition Manager 11 to make a clone of my "C" boot drive. "C" is the HDD in position 0. The clone is in position 1, which prior to the clone operation was "D". I am sure that if I removed HDD 0 and replaced it with HDD 1, the system would boot to Windows 7. (I have done this on...
