According to a well respected security firm, Microsoft’s flagship Windows 7 operating system is less secure in its default configuration that Vista.
Trend Micros CEO Raimund Genes believes that Microsoft has put usability ahead of security:

Habitually, I keep six or seven folders on my desktop and, when using XP, they would always remember their individual proportions and what part of the screen they were to open up on - that way I could always have several columns of folders side-by-side, with no overlaps, always with the same...
I just attempted to install win7 x64 on one of my other systems, an AMD Athlon II X2 240 Regor 2.8GHz, with 2 sata hds both at 500g and server 2003 on the primary drive working fine (so far) ... unless I use Paragon to make a partition on the main drive .. then I see performance hits in server...
I have 2 SATA drives with the OS on 1 and data on the other. I have a spare IDE drive that I use for backup. What I would like to know is. Will the IDE drive now cause Windows 7 to run slow after the log-in screen? The reason I ask is that the time from login to usability has increased since...
I love that you can pin your commonly used applications to the task bar and move them around. I was wondering if anyone has found a way to put dividers in to sepparate different kind of apps. Example:

Okay, when I decided I wanted to use Windows 7 the only thing in my way was Windows Media Player 12. I love WMP11, a lot of people hate it, but I love the way you can navigate your music in it. When I tried the beta I tried WMP12 and hated it, I was sure they would have it running nicely later...

The new taskbar has some great features, Aero Peek and Jump Lists are two things I really like.

I was wondering, since there will be a several month gap between the end date of the beta and the release of the final win/7, how does this work? forgive my ignorance, this is the first beta i've ever used. Will I be able to access the files I have saved in my folders after the end date, or will...

In the disk manager tool, I tried to partition (create/name) a new partition out of free, unallocated space. but the virtual disk service blows up and the partition is "created" but it gains no letter drive and is not usable.

I've been getting crashes with three different types of file transfers:
1. FireFTP plugin for Firefox
2. Filezilla
3. Windows Explorer accessing a shared folder on another computer.
Only Windows Explorer recovered back to usability, but the transfer was left incomplete.
Any ideas?
Well it's up and running though not at all complete yet. Memory was a piece cake, and I now have 3.3 gig's usable. The Vista 64 bit at least in my opinion is a lot faster than 32bit. I still can only crank up the cpu to 2.38 ghz. But, I know the reason why now. Intel puts a lock on their...
