Hello. I just upgraded from vista 32 bit to Win 7 32 bit and i am noticing a problem with the memory management. I have 4 Gb in my system, but windows is only using 2GB. I understand that 32 bit systems do not use anything over 4 GB, but when i had vista it used 3.5 GB out of the 4. So why now...
Just installed Win7 64bit and in control panel I see "installed ram 4GB 3.25 GB usable".
I have a dedicated video card.
Why is that, shouldn't win7 see full 4GB?
Thanks.

Hi
I installed Windows 7 32-bit yesterday, and everything is working smoothly. But when I check out my system properties I see that Windows recognizes that I have 4 GB installed RAM, but only 2.2 of it is usable. Now I understand that 32-bit is only able to use about 3 gb, but 2.2 seems a...
I installed Windows 7 RC x64 last week and noticed in the system properties it says "Installed memory (RAM): 4.00 GB (3.75 of usable)". The strange thing is, I only have 3 gigs of memory installed.
When I check System Properties, it says Installed memory (RAM): 4GB (2.75GB usable). When I check Task Manager, it also shows me 2814MB Total physical memory. I am using Windows 7 RTM x86. How can I get all of my installed RAM working? I googled a bit, found out something about memory remaping...
Hi. I have installed Windows 7 32bit and I have 4GB of RAM. However, W7 only reports 2.96 GB Ram usable while it does recognize there are 4GBs. Previously I had Vista 32Bit with SP1 and that fully recognized my 4GB. Can someone please inform me how to get W7 32bit to recognize the full 4GB of...

Hey guys...wonder if some one could help me.

I have a samsung r505 laptop with 4GB of ram untill now windows 7 has always shown ir as 4GB until today where its saying only 2.87 is useable how does this make sense??
Windows 7-7100x64 displays 6.00 gb of installed memory but states useable is only 1.99gb, Cpu-z reports 6.00gb installed memory. I do not have the feature in my evga x58 mb to change memory mapping or activate/deactivate PAE. any help on this would be great!!
Hey Guys,
I installed Windows 7 x64 today and when i opened the system information tool, it shows 3.25GB usable.
So, i checked with task manager and it shows the same 3326(3.25) to my surprise.
How is this possible on a x64 OS?
Memory mapping is on 32 bit if i am not wrong...
